ADG International has implemented several Training of Trainers (ToT) within our international projects, especially in East Africa. The aim of a ToT is to enable internal trainers of financial institutions or training academies to deliver high quality interactive trainings that achieves great training impact. The ToT concept is based on a help-to-self-help approach and is aligned with the fundamental “principles” of adult learning. The training is of a very interactive nature. A lot of space is given to the participants to actually put learning into practice immediately, through group work, presentations, individual tasks, and plenary discussions. Feedback is provided immediately and time is given for reflection on own learning outcomes and improvement. In 2018, nine ToT were implemented, mainly in our projects in Uganda, Kenya, and Ethiopia, successfully training a total of 160 internal trainers.
